CBD interacts with the human Endocannabinoid System by encouraging the release of our own endocannabinoids
CBD is most commonly made available as an oil or in capsule form.
As a natural product, the CBD content in a cannabis product may vary from product to product and lot to lot.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that are produced naturally in our bodies and in some plants; they’re called endocannabinoids in humans and phytocannabinoids in plants.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most common cannabinoid in cannabis, and although it can have an effect on both mind and body, it has little to no intoxicating effect. It’s found in the trichomes on the flower of many cannabis strains, including hemp.

CBD is commonly made available as an oil or in capsule form. It can also be applied topically as a cream or salve, inhaled or ingested in dried flower format, or ingested as an oil or in an edible product.
How CBD Works
Studies to date suggest that rather than binding to the CB1 receptors in the human endocannabinoid system, as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does, CBD acts differently, increasing or improving the production of our own endocannabinoids.

CBD inhibits the production of an enzyme in our body that regulates and destroys our own excess endocannabinoids.
This leads to us having more of our own endocannabinoids circulating in our bodies, which affects our physical state.

#CBDCAKES
CBD may alter the effects of other natural chemicals in our bodies, including serotonin, which modulates mood and stress; adenosine, which impacts our sleep-wake cycle; and vanilloid, which contributes to pain modulation.

CBD content, also known as potency, is expressed as a percentage of milligrams per gram in cannabis. For instance, 12% CBD means that it contains 120 milligrams of CBD per gram of cannabis.
It’s important to know that as a natural product, the CBD content in a cannabis product may vary from product to product and lot to lot.
CBD and THC
cannabinoids and other compounds in cannabis plants and products are thought to work together to amplify or modulate the effects of cannabis, a theory referred to as “the entourage effect.”

CBD, in combination with THC, appears to reduce some of the psychoactive effects of THC.

CBD GREEN MONKEY๐Ÿ’š

Green Monkey has signed distribution contracts to supply drink to four new markets

EUROPEAN EXPORT DEALS FOR CANNABIS OIL DRINK๐Ÿ’ฏ

A cannabis oil drink manufacturer which only started trading last year has secured a quartet of new European export contracts.
Birmingham-based Green Monkey produces a range of cannabidiol (CBD) products which it will now export to international markets after signing deals with distributors Food Link in Denmark, Triple A Gourmet in Spain, Jean Philippe Silva in France and Rocwell Water in Ireland.

Green Monkey started trading in November and has already celebrated a milestone by producing its one millionth can.
The Cannabis Trade Association, which has over 700 members across Europe, claims the number of CBD users is doubling every year and financial reports suggest the global market could be worth as much as £22 billion in the next decade.
Green Monkey’s chief executive Serge Davies said expansion into Europe was only the start of the journey for the company in its plans to go global.
“We are naturally delighted to sign these deals which means the Green Monkey brand will grow across the world and we can continue to expand,” he said.

“The demand for CBD is growing exponentially and more and more people are seeing the benefits through research that is coming through.
“We are very much a wellbeing brand and we are looking to expand not only our team but also our range of wellbeing products.”
Renรฉ Boysen, marketing manager at Food Link, added: “We have had Green Monkey on our radar for a number of months and we are pleased to announce this deal which will mean that our customers in Denmark will be able to purchase the Green Monkey range.
“The demand for wellbeing products in Denmark is increasing and as such we need to make sure that we are always finding new products to satiate this.
“We are looking forward to working with Green Monkey over the coming years.”

CBD oil is derived from cannabis and hemp plants and it's suddenly everywhere.๐Ÿ’š

From coffee to water to balms, drops and even cosmetics... and all on sale online or on your local high street.
Now a company in Birmingham is claiming to have created the first CBD fizzy drink and it's very exciting.
But what exactly is CBD and why is it suddenly so popular?
CBD is shorthand for cannabidiol, a chemical that may come from cannabis.

The capsules๐Ÿ’š
Image captionGreen Monkey sells capsules containing CBD oil

It won't get you high as it doesn't contain the active psychoactive ingredient THC.
However, there are plenty of people looking at other health effects it may have.
Some pretty solid medical science shows that stronger forms of CBD can help reduce the number of epileptic seizures in some patients, by more than 40%.
But the CBD products you will find on sale right now in the UK all contain CBD at much, much lower doses.
Green Monkey is a Birmingham company set up late last year to sell CBD products.
As well as oil filled capsules and topical balms, it's now produced what it says is the UK's first CBD fizzy drink.

Outselling water

Chemist owner
Image captionThe drink is on sale in this chain of chemists and the owner (who is also an investor in Green Monkey) says it is more popular than bottled water

Managing to mix an oil into a carbonated beverage is actually a pretty nifty trick, although the company wouldn't tell us how it had cracked it.
But the end result is proving popular.
The owner of a Midlands pharmacy chain (and investor in Green Monkey) claims the drink is outselling water in his stores by three cans to two.
As a food product or supplement, Green Monkey isn't making any claims about any health benefits (legally it can't anyway) simply encouraging people to do their own research.
And with the market for these products set to be worth £150m a year it's clear there are many customers who see something in drinks and products like this.

Much we don't know

However, there is still much we don't know about CBD even at the lower doses found in drinks and cosmetics.
How many cans of drink is too many? (Green Monkey recommends two a day).
What is the interaction between CBD oil and any other prescription medications? Could it reduce their effectiveness or even interact in a toxic way?
The flip side of that is whether or not it works at all at these doses.
Can it really help with muscle pain, anxiety or even acne as many of its devotees claim?
At the moment we just don't know. At least not scientifically.
But there's a growing market that clearly demonstrates many people believe the CBD hype.

Can CBD oil be mixed with water?

Remember, oil and water don't mix. ... Seeing as the body is more or less 60%water, it makes sense to have a CBD product that blends well with water, rather than working against it. Water soluble CBD ensures that your body is absorbing as much of the non-psychoactive cannabinoid as possible.

legal cannabis could crush the alcohol giants.

Alcohol sales fell in countries with medical marijuana.

Major alcohol companies will likely see sales squeezed by legal cannabis in the coming years.

The question of whether or not legal marijuana takes a bite out of alcohol sales has been hotly debated in recent years, with some research suggesting cannabis and alcohol sales are complementary.

Jack Daniels, Tennessee Whiskey, are companies that could see a decline in product consumption.

when it’s consumed, who consumes it, that type of environment, alcohol overlaps significantly with cannabis, whereas something like tobacco doesn’t.

While you are going to see a big shift from the illegal (cannabis) market to the legal market, you’re also going to have a lot of alcohol consumers who don’t consider cannabis, because it’s illegal, moving over to consuming cannabis, especially with the development of closer alternatives such as infused beverages.

Brands like Corona, took the plunge, investing $245-million in Canopy Growth Corp. The two companies are now working together to develop cannabis-infused beverages, that could be legal in Canada as early as 2019.
